People went on pilgrimage for many reasons – perhaps to say sorry to God for something they had done wrong (penance), or because they were ill and wanted God to heal them. How do people decide where to go on pilgrimage? Over the years, places have become special for different reasons, and Christians decide to visit them to become closer to God in these special places.

Day 01: Arrive Chennai

On arrival you are transferred to your hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 02: Chennai / Thanjavur

Morning embark on a full day tour of Chennai City and its various Churches San Thome at the southern end of Marina derives its name from St Thomas, the apostle of Christ who is believed to have come to Madras sometime during 52 AD. St John's Church, this church built in 1812 has louvre doors which open to convert it into airy pavilion and is located near the Theppakulam .Evening you are transferred to the railway station to board overnight train to Thanjavur.

Day 03: Thanjavur - Velanganni

On arrival at the railway station you are transferred to your hotel. Later excursion to Velanganni is located 12 km south of Nagapattinam on the Coromandel Coast, in Tamil Nadu. The shrine here is dedicated to Our Lady of Health, the Madonna of Velankanni and is popularly known as 'Sacred Arogya Matha Church'. Virgin Mary is believed to have miraculous healing powers. Thousands of pilgrims belonging to various castes and communities flock daily to this 'Lourdes of the East'. The church has an imposing facade with tall spires and the wings present the shape of a cross. In a niche in the alter is enshrined the statue of Our Lady of Health.

Day 04: Thanjavur / Madurai (150 Kms/04 Hrs)

Morning drive to Madurai en route visiting Trichy. The spectacular Rock Fort Temple, the Thayumanaswamy Temple, the Jambukeshwara Temple and The Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple offers south India temple tours showcasing the architectural legacy of south India . Drive on and check into your hotel. The city tour incorporates a visit to the Sri Brihadeeswarar Temple. The city tour covers the beautiful temples of south India and the churches in south India . Rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 05: Madurai / Trivandrum (264 Kms/06 Hrs)

Morning drive to Trivandrum and check into your hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 06: Trivandrum / Kollam (71 Kms/02 Hrs) and Boat Kollam / Kottayam

Morning drive to Kollam and tour the area. Later you are transferred to Kottayam by boat. On arrival you are transferred to your hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 07: Kottayam / Cochin (80 Kms/02 Hrs)

Morning a half-day tour of Kottayam and its Churches. Syrian Christians and the Malayalam Manorama, the second most widely read paper in India. There are some beautiful Syrian Christian churches in Kottayam. The St. Mary's Orthodox Church, Cheriapally, has some old murals that date back to the 1600s. Another Syrian Christian church is Valiapally. It was built in 1550 and has a visitor's book with some interesting entries. One of its 'Nestorian' crosses is thought to be the oldest Christian artefact in India. The Thirunnakara Temple sometimes holds performances of traditional Sanskrit drama called Kootiattam. Later drive to Cochin and check into your hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure.

Day: 08 In Cochin

After a short drive reach Kochi - the cultural and commercial hub of Kerala. Day sightseeing at Fort Kochi. The morning tour ushers through St Francis Church, allegedly India's oldest European built church. The tour then proceeds with the Mattancherry Synagogue and the Parishath Thampuram Museum. Evening free to explore the vibrant markets.

Day 09: Cochin / Kozhikode (181 Kms/04 Hrs)

Morning drive to Kozhikode and check into your hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 10: In Kozhikode

Morning a half-day tour of Kozhikode City and its Churches. Kozhikode is a city where Churches, mosques and temples mingle. The Tali Shiva Temple (open only to Hindus), the centre of cosmic energy, built in 14th century, is an excellent example of the traditional Keralite School of temple architecture. The Kuttichira Mosque and the Church of South India should be visited. The Mother of God Church and the St Mary's Church are the most visited churches. Rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 11: Kozhikode / Mumbai

Morning you are transferred to the airport to board flight to Mumbai. On arrival you are transferred to your hotel. Afternoon a half-day tour of Mumbai City and its visit Gateway of India, Nehru Planetarium, Princes of Wales, & Churches. Mount Mary Church it is one of the prominent churches in Mumbai. A week long fair, which is popularly known as Bandra fair, is held in the month of September to celebrate the birth of Mother Mary on September 8. People of all faiths throng this place to seek the blessings of the Mother.

Day 12: Mumbai / Goa

Morning is at leisure. Afternoon you are transferred to the airport to board flight to Goa. On arrival you are transferred to your hotel/resort. Rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 13: In Goa

Morning a half-day tour of Old Goa and its churches Relics of St. Francis Xavier is kept, Home to India's most attractive beaches with cool sands, tropical suns and swaying palm trees, Goa is a beach tour that takes you far away from the strenuous life into the lap of nature but not too far away to lose the comforts and facilities of lavish surroundings. The famous beaches of Goa include Calangute, Vagator, Anjuna, Colva and Palolem beach along with the charm of 16th century Portuguese settlement of Old Goa. The famous churches of Goa include Basilica of Bom Jesus that houses mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier in a rich silver casket, Se Cathedral with its 'Golden Bell', paintings of the Church of St. Francis of Assisi and Church of Mae de Deus at Saligao. Rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 14: Goa / Mumbai

Morning is at leisure. Afternoon you are transferred to the airport to board flight back to Mumbai. On arrival in Mumbai connect to your onward journey.
